Refugee care is being transformed

After the outbreak of the war, we concentrated on providing the refugees from Transcarpathia not only with accommodation, but also with their education, social welfare and peace of mind. Even though the refugees never leave their homes, they have found a new community and peace here in the Refugee Center.

Why should care for Transcarpathian refugees be reorganized?

On the support for the accommodation of persons arriving during the state of emergency due to the humanitarian disaster in the neighboring country and other related measures 104/2022 (III. 12.) Government Decree June 29, 2024 change has a great impact on the refugee mission activities of our organization.

The decree comes from the war zone as of August 20, 2024 limits eligibility for support to refugees, therefore the care of refugees living in the Dorcas Ministries Refugee Center, mostly from Transcarpathian, has become critical.

The change is roughly 1600 in Hungary can make the housing of a resident refugee insecure, including the needy families from Transcarpathians living with our organization, for whom it is unthinkable to find a sublet in Hungary in such a short time.

The war is still going on, so the goal of Dorcas, by reorganizing its activities, is to stand by the most vulnerable and help the poor families coming from Ukraine to a secure and predictable future. Many families managed to get one from the Refugee Center move to an independent home, we want to help even more needy refugee families.
